Journalism Has a New Ally: Kickstarter?

Well, journalism does need a kick somewhere.

Just when you thought no one cared about the media anymore comes public outcry to save reporting.

In the form of crowdsourcing favorite website, KickstarterWait, what!? 

According to the Pew Research Council, over the past six years, there have been 658 journalism-related projects proposed on Kickstarter. They all either matched or exceeded the originally requested amount for a total of about $6.3 million.

That’s advocacy for reporting.

The amount of money put into these projects grew as well, from $49,256 in 2009 and $263,352 in 2010 to $1,743,668 in the first nine months of 2015.
