John Lennon Sunglasses For Sale
John Lennon’s glasses are up for auction at music memorabilia site 991.com. The owner, Japanese television producer Junishi Yore who was a translator for the Beatles in 1966, and Lennon gave him the glasses as a gift.
When Lennon was murdered in 1980, Yore removed the lenses from the sunglasses so that Lennon’s soul could see, in accordance with a Japanese tradition.
The bids are secret but are said to go as high as $1.5 million.
