John Fante's Son to Read Tonight at King Eddy

The King Eddy farewell train continues tonight. Dan Fante, the son of legendary LA novelist John Fante, will be headlining a reading at the Downtown dive tonight at 8. Fante the younger will be reading bits from his memoir Fante: A Family’s Legacy of Writing, Drinking and Surviving.

King Eddy’s was a favorite spot of Fante the senior. The underground speakeasy beneath the bar is the spot where Fante’s famous character Arturo Bandini drank the wages away in Ask the Dusk.
