Job of the Day: AOL Wants Parenting Writers

From our job board, freshly posted today:
Freelance Writer- Parenting job in New York, NY USA at AOL

The job:

ParentDish, one of the top parenting sites on the Web, is seeking freelance writers with experience covering parenting news and trends. We are looking for:

  • Reporters who know have great industry contacts and can break news with a quick turn-around. Be the first to tell the world about new products, celebrity baby news, breaking product recalls, health news related to children, and more.
  • Specialists with knowledge of areas such as child health, family budgeting, safety issues
  • Generalists who know how to pick up the phone and master a story in a few hours flat.
  • Expert /writers who have great, unusual advice about how regular families can manage (and have FUN) parenting.

To get this gig you’re gonna need to be a good writer and understand journalism—no blogging experience required. “Print veterans eager to learn are welcome!”

Why we like it: ‘Cuz when a media company says its beefing up content and then it actually does—hell, this is like Christmas in July.

If ParentDish is going to be anything like AOL’s other content sites, newbies need not apply—the company’s MediaGlow unit has been recruiting big names from print and online to lend some serious cred to its reinvention.
