James Murdoch's Top Press Adviser Resigns

Had clashed with News Corp. over handling of hacking scandal

Alice Macandrew, James Murdoch’s head spokesperson and one of his closest aides, has resigned from News Corp. due to disagreements over the way that the company handled the recent hacking crisis, The Guardian reported today.

Macandrew apparently resigned in July, but News Corp. had been trying to convince her to stay on; the news has only now become public, seemingly because that effort failed. She's expected to officially leave the company in December. 

According to the Financial Times, Macandrew had been intimately involved in the strategy for News Corp.'s
