iWin has released a brand new, mobile-only release in the popular Jewel Quest series. Titled simply “Jewel Quest,” the franchise’s first mobile-only game is now available to download for free on iOS devices.

Like previous Jewel Quest installments, the game challenges players to complete levels by making matches of three or more like-symbols, destroying those jewels to turn tiles gold. Levels may have move limits, and each board has a different shape than the last, adding to the challenge.

Jewel Quest contains 80 different levels that are spread out across nine islands. Players are led through the game by an actual storyline which sees our heroes traveling through the pacific in search of treasure in lands previously undiscovered by man.

The game offers light social play with Facebook connectivity for comparing high scores, and power-ups can be purchased before each stage, giving the game a more modern feeling. That is, the game will likely feel very familiar for fans of King’s Candy Crush Saga (for one), but it’s more accurate to say that Candy Crush Saga was inspired by the Jewel Quest games of old, rather than the other way around.

Jewel Quest is monetized via the addition of a lives system, which depletes as players fail to complete level goals. These lives can be recharged slowly over time or purchased instantly with real money. Furthermore, power-ups can be purchased with coins, which are earned while playing, or also purchased via microtransactions.

Jewel Quest is available to download for free as a universal app on iOS. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
