It's not all Hearts & Flowers for Valentine's Day

Mobile entertainment site Thumbplay is once again reporting some pre-Valentine’s Day statistics, showing that romance is alive and well, at least on our cell phones.

After tracking downloads from November through January, Thumbplay says it saw a 40% rise in love ballad downloads over the same period a year earlier.

The top love-inspired MP3s downloaded as of February 4:

* Tina Turner’s What’s Love Got To Do With It
* Kanye West’s Love Lockdown
* Keyshia Cole’s Heaven Sent

Country music lovers are getting into the mood with:

* Taylor Swift’s Love Story
* Brad Paisley’s Waitin’ On A Woman
* Rascal Flatts’ Love You Out Loud

Folks who think love is overrated have been expressing themselves by downloading:

* Ne-yo’s So Sick
* Pussycat Dolls’ I Hate This Part
* Bon Jovi’s You Give Love A Bad Name
