It’s Better Than Reading, Because Things Move and Stuff

On Michael Surtees’ site, which we’re big fans of, we found this new little bit of interesting that should successfully help you not get anything done all morning. It’s a series of videos by Debbie Millman from a lecture she held around this time last year. The videos are large, file-wise, so it may take some time to start going, so maybe it’s best if you just download them, get some work done now, and then come back later, to lay waste to your afternoon. It’s a whole handful of goodness, and is a great companion piece to this page, which Surtees also pointed us to, with Millman’s ideas on her own site. Here’s a bit about the videos:

On Thursday, March 31st, 2005, the Alberta North chapter of the Graphic Designers of Canada hosted Debbie Millman of Sterling Brands in New York. Debbie visited to present “Design Stories from New York.”

Debbie Millman is the managing partner and president of the design division at Sterling Group, one of the US’s leading brand identity firms. She has been there for nearly ten years and in that time she has had the distinct fortune of working with such amazing clients as Gillette, Unilever, Kraft, MTV, Star Wars, the NBA, Pepsi and Campbell’s.
