iThoughtsHD for iPad: Might be the Mobile Mindmapping Tool You've Been Waiting For

Mindmapping is diagramming process that I’ve found useful for brain-storming and organizing thoughts. I started using it on paper years ago and have used a variety of mindmapping software tools since the mid-1990s. I’ve often thought it would be great on instant-on smartphones but found their displays too small to be truly useful for mindmaps.

I discovered:

iThoughtsHD (mindmapping) 1.0

for the iPad this past weekend and plunked down my $7.99 for it after reading a bit about it. Amusingly but fittingly, iThoughtsHD’s help is a dynamic mindmap itself.

I’m still familiarizing myself with creating mindmaps using this app and my finger (instead of a keyboard and mouse). But, my initial impression is very positive. I think it will join Adobe Ideas as one of my go-to iPad apps for thinking-by-drawing sessions.
