"Magic is the only honest profession!  A magician promises to deceive you, and he does."

Last week an awesome iPad magic show went viral, raking in more than 3 million views for a magical demonstration of iOS 5.  Over the weekend a new magic show has been climbing the YouTube charts—this one performed on three iPods.  “Virtual Magician” Marco Tempest waxes philosophical on deception, lies, illusions and magic in an awesome magical iPod performance, which has been viewed over 300,000 times since it hit YouTube last Friday.

Marco Tempest is known for his unique brand of magic combined with technology.  He’s known for a number of other viral magic videos including iPhone Magic, and his PhoneCam Magic series.  Tempest’s latest 3-iPod trick was done using his own MultiVid application for iPhone and iPod Touch.  According to the app description, “MultiVid is a multi-screen synchronization playback solution for iPhone and iPad Touch.  MultiVid is designed for economic playback of video content in multi-screen synchronization applications for theatrical performances and for visual artists.”  He explains how the MultiVid app works on MarcoTempest.com.

This latest video, ‘iPod Magic,’ tells the story of deception.  Tempest talks about the psychology of deception, lies and how they play into the field of magic.  One of tempests favorite magicians is Karl Germain, who said, “Magic is the only honest profession!  A magician promises to deceive you, and he does.”  Check out the video below to see Marco Tempest’s MultiVid iPod magic in action and let us know what you think.  What’s your take on Tempest’s art of deception via technology?
