iPhone Jailbreaking Threat to the Cell Towers? Note to Apple – People Have Been Doing This for a Loooong Time


To be perfectly honest, I thought this item over on Wired.com might be a joke when I first saw the headline…

But, no, this is a serious report on a silly subject. Phones have been hacked for years. In fact, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak (“Woz”) is famous for his pre-Apple Blue Box “phreaking” days on the wireline telephone network. According to Wikipedia, one of Woz’s blue boxes is on display in the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.

If they want to learn a bit about what has been going on with hacking Windows Mobile phones, Apple should read what’s been going on over at…


…for years before the first iPhone was sold.
