iPad to Launch in China Next Week

Grey-market iPad sellers in China have 10 days to clear out their stock; Apple has just announced that the new iPad will officially hit store shelves on July 20th.

The new iPad will reportedly cost the same as the US retail, with  the 16GB\Wifi model starting at $500.

It sounds rather odd, doesn’t it, that a single country is named by itself in an iPad launch? There’s a good reason for that.

Apple has been slowly offering the iPad to more and more counties over the past year, but one market has been absent: China, and there was a good reason for that.
