iPad 2 Rear Camera Has Tap for Auto Exposure, Not Auto Focus
If you read the iPhone 4’s Tech Specs page, its camera section reads:
– Video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio
– 5-megapixel still camera
– Tap to focus video or still images
If you read the iPad 2’s Tech Specs page, its camera section reads:
– Back camera: Video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio; still camera with 5x digital zoom
– Tap to control exposure for video or stills
There’s been a lot of discussion focusing (pun intended) on the indication that the iPad 2’s rear facing camera will have a relatively low resolution like the 4th generation iPod touch: 960×720 (less than a megapixel with a 691,200 pixel resolution).
