Instapaper For iPad Updated

Almost as if the Instapaper folks new that I am considering switching to Read It Later, they released Version 3.0 of the app for the iPad and iPhone. The big new feature in this version of Instapaper is the ability to share items to Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, Pinboard, and Evernote. The Tumbler integration enables you write full blog posts using what you are reading in Instapaper as the title post, along with a link.

Instapaper also now has a social feature, allowing you to browse through liked items from your friends who use Instapaper. You open liked items in a browser that includes a Read Later button to add the item to your own Instapaper account. You can add friends by linking Instapaper to your Facebook and Twitter accounts.

If you are looking for new stuff to read, check out the Editors section, which contains links to web sites that curate long form content on the web. The Editors section highlights the improved built-in web browser that has a built-in Read Later button to add articles to your Instapaper account. If you like, you can also add a Read Later button to Safari by opening Settings within Instapaper.

While Instapaper costs $4.99 to new users, the version 3 upgrade is free and available now in the iTunes App Store.
