Yahoo senior director of product management Robby Stein is leaving the company for a role on the product leadership team at Instagram.
Yahoo senior director of product management Robby Stein is leaving the company for a role on the product leadership team at Instagram.
Stein broke the news in an Instagram post (embedded below), saying that he was one of the first users of the initial beta version of Instagram.
According to Re/code, Stein had been leading Yahoo’s New York engineering office, focusing on mobile and video.
Stein wrote in his Instagram post:
I’m excited to share the news that next week I’ll be joining the product leadership team at Instagram! As one of the first users on the initial beta, I’ve seen Instagram grow to become the essential visual platform that connects the world, and I am thrilled to reunite with @kevin (Instagram co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom) to help lead this exciting next phase of the product.
