As the readings on thermometers begin to rise, Instagram is reminding advertisers to begin heating up their summer campaign plans.
The Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network said in a blog post that 18- to 24-year-old users are the most active when it comes to engaging with posts that include hashtags related to summer, and women make up 66 percent of those users.

During the summer of 2016, the top topics of conversation among U.S. Instagram users were:
- Loved ones (25 percent)
- Recreational activities (23 percent)
- Health and beauty (15 percent)
- Travel (10 percent)
Activity surged during the season’s major holidays—Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day and Labor Day—and conversation about summer content tended to peak at 1 p.m. PT.
