Change the look of your video before you record

Instagram recently launched Reels, its version of TikTok. The Reels feature allows users to create 15-second videos containing one or more different clips.

You can edit your Reels videos in a number of ways. For instance, our guide will show you how to add an augmented reality effect to a Reels clip before you actually record it.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram application on iOS.

Step 1: On the Instagram Stories Camera, swipe from right to left on the words at the bottom of the screen to move to the Reels camera.

Step 2: Tap the “Effects” icon on the left side of the screen.

Step 3: Swipe from right to left on the capture button at the bottom of the screen to preview the effects that are available.

Step 4: Once you’ve chosen the effect you want to use, tap the capture button to begin recording a clip.
