Instagram: Here’s How to Stop Your Stories From Being Archived

By default, posts are automatically saved in the Archive

Instagram recently added Stories to its Archive feature, allowing users to view their past Stories posts after they’ve expired from public view, as well as to add them to Highlights on their profiles. While new Stories posts will be added to users’ Archives automatically, Instagram also allows users to turn this functionality off. Our guide will show you how.

Step 1: Tap the profile button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap the gear icon near the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Under “Account,” tap “Story Settings.”

Step 4: Under “Saving,” tap the toggle next to “Save to Archive” to stop the app from automatically saving Stories posts to the app’s Archive section. The toggle will turn white when the feature is turned off.
