Instagram recently added the ability for users to send private voice messages to others through Instagram Direct. Our guide will show you how this feature works.
Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram application on iOS.
Step 1: Tap on the paper airplane icon to go to your Direct inbox. Note: You can also swipe from right to left on your Instagram home feed to get to the Direct inbox.
Step 2: Tap the conversation you wish to send a voice message within.
Step 3: Tap and hold the microphone button at the bottom of the screen to record a voice message.
Step 4: When you’re done recording, lift your finger to immediately send the message, or swipe left to cancel and discard what you’ve already recorded.
