Instagram is doubling the fun that people can have with its Reels TikTok clone feature, doubling the maximum length of videos to 30 seconds from 15.

The Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network said people creating Reels can extend the timer to 10 seconds.

They can also trim and delete any clip, smoothing the editing process.

CMT is making Reels history Wednesday, as the CMT Awards will become the first major U.S. awards show to use the feature in exclusively revealing its nominees. That will take place at 9 a.m. PT/noon ET.

Instagram Reels product director Tessa Lyons-Laing said in a statement, “We continue to improve Reels based on people’s feedback, and these updates make it easier to create and edit. While it’s still early, we’re seeing a lot of entertaining, creative content.” David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
