It’s getting buggy out there in the world of social media, as Facebook was joined by Instagram and Twitter on the list of platforms experiencing difficulties.
A bug on Facebook Tuesday automatically added audience targeting to video posts by pages, which greatly diminished the reach of those posts.
Corporate sibling Instagram is dealing with a bug that is wreaking havoc with some accounts’ follower numbers, to the point where reports and tweets speculated that the Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network was conducting another purge of bots and fake accounts.
However, Instagram confirmed in a tweet of its own that the issue was being caused by a bug, writing, “We’re aware of an issue that is causing a change in account follower numbers for some people right now.
