In Hollywood City, players are heirs to the throne of an entertainment empire that belonged to their now deceased grandpa. Players get to build genre specific studios such as ones for horror, drama, comedy and others, starting right away in the tutorial. Players start by buying old and disconnected studios for a small sum of money and starting production in each studio they acquire and placing roads to facilitate the flow of traffic. Each production is essentially a time based appointment mechanic that has players return at a certain time to collect the reward. Players’ advisor guides them through ‘missions’ which are to-do items that reward players once complete.

There’s plenty of social features as well that enable trading and competition with friends. The look and feel of the game resembles Millionaire City, which hints that the production cost of this game must have been kept to a minimal. If the look and feel works, then why not try it with a different theme?

Hollywood City will be available to play for free on Facebook by going to http://apps.facebook.com/hollywood_city. For more information about Digital Chocolate’s games, go to www.digitalchocolate.com/facebook-games.
