Mobile advertising and marketing platform Opera Mediaworks released an infographic detailing the results of its survey of 1,000 U.S. mobile users, which asked them about their travel planning habits. The survey found that mobile is the No. 1 platform for travel research and booking, with 66 percent of respondents preferring to use their smartphones, rather than their desktops, for travel research.
In addition, 85 percent of respondents said they use mobile devices to book travel activities. One in three respondents said they use specific mobile applications, such as TripAdvisor and Yelp, to research accommodations and activities.
