Incest Desk

Today we have two items from the Incest Desk.

*Capehart’s personal ties: In this case, the admissions in WaPo Opinion Writer Jonathan Capehart’s story aren’t serious causes for concern because he admits the friendship and then agrees with the person to whom he’s tied. Even then, it’s not horribly gushing. The story concerns Donald Trump saving face and dropping out of a race he hasn’t entered. “Even if [David] Meadvin weren’t a good friend — so good that I bought my apartment from him and was in his wedding — I would say that this statement passes the laugh test with me,” he writes. David Meadvin, former speechwriter to Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.), wrote a potential out for Trump’s presidential candidacy in HuffPost. Ultimately Capehart writes, “If Trump follows Meadvin’s advice before NBC announces its 2011-2012 lineup on May 16 folks might actually believe him.” Incest score: 2 (out of 10). Even if the apartment is a palace, it didn’t obviously sway Capehart’s writing.

*Potential House Chaplain has link to O’Donnell and Chef Geoff: The pastor being nominated by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to be the fourth House Chaplain married Norah O’Donnell and husband Geoff Tracy. Incest score: 1 (out of 10). It’s highly unlikely that Patrick Conroy potential status as House Chaplain would result in any perks for the newswoman. Maybe Tracy will make him signature calamari with a trio of sauces.
