In-Stat: 20% of All Mobiles Will Be Smartphones by 2013

One year later, Nielsenwire predicts:

Smartphones to Overtake Feature Phones in U.S. by 2011

Nielsen’s projects have the smartphone and feature phone marketshare lines crossing around the third quarter of 2011 (1.5 years from now).

So in the space of one year, we saw smartphone marketshare projections shift from 20% by 2013 to 50% by the 2011. You can see why I always look at these mobile statistics and projections with great doubt.
