Immy Humes: George Plimpton Did Not Found The Paris Review

Immy Humes, the daughter of H.L ”Doc” Humes, the Paris Review founder, was on WNYC’s Leonard Lopate Show this morning. Although the late George Plimpton seems synonymous with The Paris Review, Humes told Lopate this morning that the legendary participatory journalist was not one of the original co-founders of the literary journal, although ”he really made it last.” Plimpton came on board later and, we cannot fail to note, was critical to its success.
