If You Like Videos And You’ve Got About Three Days To Kill

The MVPA (that’s Music Video Production Association) has opened the online voting for their 2006 award show. Although you can’t vote unless you’re a member, if you need to get a quick overview of the year in videos, this is the place to do it.

Just go here, register and get really comfortable: there’s hours and hours and hours of clips. We just watched Motion Theory’s montage for “Director of the Year” (their video for Beck’s “Girl” is above) and it says we’re 5% finished with that category. The “Best Video Under $25,000” category has 94 entries. Go figure.

The winners will be announced at the MVPA show in May, which has gotten quite a reputation as the one award show that’s actually fun. It will be tough to top last year’s highlight, however: Kanye West stormed the stage to give a 12-minute speech for an award he did not win.
