Facebook canceled two events that were scheduled to take place in New York this week due to Hurricane Sandy’s assault on the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S.
According to AllThingsD, the social network scrapped an engineering open house that had been scheduled for Tuesday at its New York office, as well as an event at toy store FAO Schwarz Thursday to promote its recently launched Gifts offering.
There was no word on if or when the events would be rescheduled.
According to the most recent forecasts, the New York metropolitan area will take its worst hit from Hurricane Sandy Monday evening through early Tuesday morning, and the area was already experiencing rising water levels, heavy rain, and high winds Monday morning.
