HTC EVO Shift 4G: Nice 2010 Android Phone. Too Bad it is 2011 Now

The new Android 4G enabled phone available through Sprint has a lot going for it and one big negative.

– 800×480 resolution display
– 3G/4G mobile hotspot capability
– 5 megapixel digital photos
– 720p video recording
– FM radio
– Pull-out physical QWERTY keyboard

So, what’s wrong with it? It will be released with Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) instead of the newer 2.3 (Gingerbread). It also does not appear to include NFC (Near Field Communciations) or gyroscope hardware support. In other words, it is a nice phone for 2010, but not 2011.
