HP Resurrects the TouchPad for 'One Last Run'

Consumers went crazy for the discounted tablet

Hewlett Packard is cashing in on the renewed popularity of its recently abandoned TouchPad.

Following HP’s announcement earlier this month that it would no longer produce the tablet, which led to price slashing on remaining TouchPads to $99, consumers jumped at the chance to get the device at bargain rates.

“Since we announced the price drop, the number of inquiries about the product and the speed at which it disappeared from inventory has been stunning,” the company wrote in a blog post.

HP said that it was “pleasantly surprised” by the enthusiastic response to the discounted tablets, and as a result, is now planning to produce “one last run” of TouchPads to meet any unfulfilled demand.
