How Not to Tweet for Customers

Habitat, a furniture retailer in the United Kingdom, is wiping egg off its face after adding hashtags including “Iran” and “Mousavi” to its Twitter Tweets in an attempt to drive users to its Website, AdAge.com reported.

According to AdAge.com, one of the offending Tweets read, “HabitatUK: #MOUSAVI Join the database for free to win a £1000 gift card.”

The company would not say who was responsible for the decision, but it released a statement saying, “We would like to make a very sincere apology to any users who were offended by last week’s activity on Twitter.
