Hitwise: Cable Shows See Huge Jumps

According to Hitwise, ABC was the top-ranked broadcast-network Website for the week ending Jan. 16, with CBS coming in second.

The top-three most-visited broadcast-show Websites were Fox’s American Idol, ABC’s The Bachelor and NBC’s Chuck.

Cable shows (adults only) were led by Comedy Central’s South Park, followed by MTV’s Jersey Shore and Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club.

When combining broadcast and cable networks, Idol topped the charts, followed by Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and South Park.

Fast risers on the broadcast list were Fox’s The Simpsons (to No. 17 from No. 30), The CW’s Life UneXpected (23 from 61) and Fox’s Glee (25 from 42).

Cable’s fast risers were MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show (5 from 18), TBS’ Lopez Tonight (11 from 34), Comedy’s Tosh.0 (14 from 116), TNT’s Southland (17 from 304) and Lifetime’s Project Runway (20 from 103).

Fast risers among the top 25 Websites were Idol (1 from 13), Chuck (6 from 18), Lopez Tonight (21 from 65) and Fox’s 24 (23 from 47).
