The Hill Most Followed Twitter Account by Congress

Newspaper closely followed by Politico

With an assist from the tweet crunchers at Twiangulate, New York magazine reported this week that The Hill newspaper is the most-followed Twitter account by members of Congress.

The Capitol Hill publication, which describes itself as a newspaper for and about Congress, is followed by 62.9 percent of members of Congress, according to the report. Politico comes in at a close second with 61.2 percent. While The Hill takes the top spot when it comes to congressional followers, Politico's Twitter account actually has a larger audience overall.

House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor are the only two individuals to crack the report's top 10 most-followed accounts, with 59.7 percent and 50.8 percent, respectively.

And not surprisingly, the report found that the indefatigable Politico scribe Mike Allen is the most followed journalist on the list.
