Hezbollah Television Network Gets A New Satellite

Hezbollah-operated television network Al-Manar has just received a major boost: A deal with a Thai satellite provider that will allow the network to broadcast to Asia, Australia, Africa and continental Europe. The three Thaicom satellites operated by Shinawatra Computer and Communications Company will carry the pro-Lebanese Shiite, pro-Iranian network to a vastly increased audience. There are widespread rumors that Al-Minar receives Iranian funding, however both the network and Iran’s government deny that.
