The Advocate, the Here Media-owned gay news Web site, reached an affiliate deal with NBC News Channel to use the news resources of NBC television affiliates and other selected news outlets to create daily news segments for television and online.

Advocate.com will host the daily video news reports with footage from NBC News and its local TV affiliates, and NBC News will have access to Advocate talent and content when reporting on important gay issues.

The two companies said the agreement will extend to other Here Media properties, including Out, Gay.com, HIV Plus, OutTraveler.com, SheWired.com, and here! TV.

Here Media CEO Paul Colichman said:

Media continues to evolve, and The Advocate continues to grow and deliver news and entertainment across all platforms. The Advocate’s partnership with NBC News Channel allows our brand a unique opportunity to focus an LGBT lens on issues important to gay and lesbian Americans and their families. Our editors and expert journalists look forward to breaking new ground in a diverse media landscape.

And NBC News Channel president Bob Horner added:

The NBC News Channel prides itself on supporting the client’s mission. We respect the commitment Here Media has to its community and we look forward to assisting The Advocate in its coverage of the issues important to the LGBT community.
