Heeb To Go Online-Only

Heeb magazine is suspending print publication to become an online-only mag, publisher and editor-in-chief Josh Neuman announced today.

The self-styled “New Jew Review” was a snarky sendup of all things Jewish—as the WSJ put it, “both profound and profoundly lowbrow — “Mad” magazine with more circumcision jokes.”

On the post announcing the print magazine’s demise, Neuman extolled Heeb‘s successes: “During the eight years we’ve printed the magazine, we’ve managed to endure the death of irony, the death of independent publishing and the death of print advertising (not to mention a barrage of ongoing attacks from Holocaust deniers, white power groups and perhaps most frighteningly, Abe Foxman).”

Heeb is closing down its offices but will continue with the online magazine and real-life events in New York and Palm Springs.

Oy vey.
