Hearst Is On A Spending Binge

William Randolph Hearst liked buying property. So does the company he started. It looks like the Hearst Corporation has been on a real estate buying binge around their 57th Street headquarters. They purchased three nearby apartment buildings: 811 Ninth Avenue for $17.1 million, 828 Ninth Avenue for $4.9 million and 304 West 56th Street for $7.6 million. They’re also overpaying for them. A lot. As in paying midtown office space prices for Hell’s Kitchen apartment buildings.
