Healthy Writers, Get Out The Resumes

    Job Opening: Health Section Editor

Craig Stoltz has been praised as a revolutionary editor. His innovations in the Travel and Health sections set the standard here for smart consumer journalism. So perhaps it is not a surprise that Craig has decided to join Revolution Health, a lifestyle and wellness start-up run by Steve Case of AOL fame. Its mission, like Craig’s mission for our Health section, is to help people manage their personal health. Craig will be Managing Editor responsible for health news and medical studies for the Revolution Web site. He will be sorely missed.

We will move quickly to hire Craig’s replacement as Health editor and are currently only seeking applicants who are already in the newsroom. This is a crucial time for the section, which is at the heart of our ambitious plans to produce journalism that resonates with readers and responds to their concerns about everyday life. We are looking for an experienced, high-energy editor who is loaded with ideas and excitement about consumer journalism. The job demands a leader who can manage a dedicated staff and a stable of freelancers while also working collaboratively on art direction and copy editing. Building strong relationships with counterparts at washingtonpost.com, among the other feature sections and elsewhere in the newsroom is also key. Experience with health and medical issues is a plus, but not a prerequisite. We are eager to talk to anyone who is interested in the position.
