Instead of doubling down and cracking the whip to just get through the recession, one firm is keeping perks and adding staff.
“Life at Ai includes good benefits, workstations with dual flat-screen monitors, and getting the day off for your birthday. We serve breakfast every Monday morning and throw a party every Friday afternoon,” says the careers page at Alexander Interactive, a web design and engineering firm. The company also has a dog named Jack Reynolds, a game room, and a meeting area called Belly Dancer Corner, and employees are encouraged to volunteer with nonprofits to give back to the community.
