How well do you remember the 90’s? That’s the question posed by RLG’s Guess the 90’s on Facebook, as players are shown images of popular bands, clothing items, toys and other items from the 1990’s, and are asked to identify them.
Like other picture identification games (4 Pics 1 Word, for instance), each image in Guess the 90’s comes with a scrambled group of letters and blank white tiles representing the number of letters in the final word. Players can either click on letters to fill them in, or type them for faster progress.
Players are given coins for each correct response, and can spend them on several power-ups to identify images they may not recognize. These power-ups may reveal one letter in the final word, remove letters from the starting pool, or simply solve the question automatically. Players can also share the image on their Facebook News Feed in order to access free help from friends.
Gamers also earn experience points for each correct answer, and can invite their friends to play along. This not only rewards them with free coins, but also fills out the game’s leaderboard. Finally, players can simply share coins with friends as free gifts.
Guess the 90’s is rocketing up the charts, currently sitting at over 1.8 million monthly active users (MAU), according to our app tracking platform AppData. That’s up from just 98,000 MAU on January 25.
