GSN Cash Games brings real-money tournaments to mobile browsers

GSN has announced the beta launch of its GSN Cash Games mobile site, allowing US mobile players to engage in cash tournaments, without the need to download an app. This move allows GSN to avoid the restrictions presented by app stores in relation to apps that award real cash prizes, as the experience is instead an Open Web site developed using HTML5.

To start, the GSN Cash Games site allows players to enter cash tournaments for just one game, Solitaire Rush. Players can also use the site to enter free practice tournaments. Players can login to the mobile site using the credentials they previously used on the desktop site, with profiles, site preferences and more carrying over to the mobile experience.

From the account screen on mobile, players can make a deposit into their GSN account from their linked bank account, or withdraw cash prizes back out of the system. These tournaments will come to Wheel of Fortune and Catch-21 later in Q1 2014, with additional games to follow later this year.

“With the growing population of mobile gamers, GSN Games is thrilled to offer skill-based cash tournaments through the GSN Cash Games mobile-optimized site,” said Jeremy Stein, senior product manager of mobile at GSN Games. “The GSN Cash Games mobile site will bring our most popular titles and the excitement of competing for cash prizes to players, wherever they are.”

The GSN Cash Games mobile site is available now for players on Safari or Chrome browsers. Players can access the cash tournaments by logging into on their mobile devices.
