GQ Names Christopher Cox Executive Editor

He starts Monday.

Before joining GQ magazine as a senior editor in 1997, EIC Jim Nelson worked at Harper’s. Today, it is Nelson’s turn to herald a similar transition.

Joining the magazine Monday as executive editor will be Christopher Cox (pictured), previously a senior editor and, briefly, editor in chief at Harper’s. From today’s announcement:

“Chris is that rare magazine talent: a deeply experienced editor who knows how to marry big ideas and high ambitions with the best and freshest writers in journalism,” says Nelson.
