Gowalla Android App Launches

Back in February I first wrote about the beta of the Gowalla location-based social networking client for Android. The official version of the Gowalla Android application is now available in the Android Market. Gowalla is like Foursquare in that it detects where you are located and allows you to check-in at that location. Each time you check-in you earn pins that are added to your passport. CNet reports that Gowalla will soon announce a partnership with the Travel Channel for the food series “Food Wars.”
