In an effort to boost its player-base, Youdagames and Mytopia have partnered to release a new version of Governor of Poker: Texas Tycoon on Facebook. The game was originally released in Summer 2012, but experienced low user numbers until this re-release.

Governor of Poker: Texas Tycoon is set in the old west, and gives players access to games like Texas Hold ‘Em Poker and Blackjack. Simple quests give players something to shoot for, aside from simply winning more virtual currency, and players can customize the look of their avatars with new hats (the game is presented from a top-down perspective).

As players continue to play games, they’ll earn experience points and level up, eventually unlocking up to 23 different poker saloons. Players can chat with friends and strangers in real-time, and each saloon has its own leaderboard for tracking just how well they stack up against the competition.

Becca Leider, Community Manager at Mytopia, tells Inside Social Games: “As a poker application set in the old west rather than a casino, our game is proving to be one of the most innovative social gaming experiences out there.”

Governor of Poker: Texas Tycoon is now available to play for free on Facebook. It has experienced great growth since its re-launch in May, and currently sits at over 99,000 monthly active players, according to AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
