Google updated Maps for Android by adding the ability to check-in and rate a place from Maps itself.
Check-ins and rating places get easier with Google Maps 5.5 for Android
This update also lets you adjust the location Latitude associates with your home and work places. You need to have Latitude turned on within Google Maps to make this adjustment. Transit station locations have also been updated in this release to make it easier to use Google Maps’ transit directions feature.
