Google Catalogs for iPad: Possibly Interesting. But, All I See Are Network Error Messages

Google released a new free iPad app that sounded very interesting. It provides mobile versions of well-known retailers’ catalogs. These retailers include Anthropologie, Bare Escentuals, Bergdorf Goodman, Crate and Barrel, L.L. Bean, Lands’ End, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, Sundance, Tea Collection, Urban Outfitters and Williams-Sonoma,

There is just one little problem: The app doesn’t work. Or, at least, it does not work on my iPad 2. I see network error messages every time I select a catalog. This is despite the fact that other network dependent apps (email, browser, etc.) are not having any network problems. There are positive reviews of the app in the iTunes App Store. So, my issues with the app may be specific to my iPad or Google may be having internal network problems with the servers assigned to the app’s contents. So, you may want to download and try it for your self. You can find it at:
