User-experience researcher Dan Russell announced the launch of A Google a Day in a post on the Google Blog, adding that the daily trivia contest will also appear above the crossword puzzle in The New York Times. He posted:

A Google a Day is a new daily puzzle that can be solved using your creativity and clever search skills on Google.
