Goodman Tapped To Direct Oscars -- WHO?

Roger Goodman , a little known TV news director whose claim to fame was directing Super Bowl halftime shows, has been tapped to direct the 81st annual Academy Awards telecast, guaranteeing that the new telecast will not only be underproduced, but underdirected as well.

This will mark the first time Goodman has directed the awards which will be held on Feb. 22 at the Kodak Theatre.

Goodman will also be a part of directing ABC News coverage of this year’s presidential inauguration coverage and has previously worked on Super Bowl half-time shows; the Daytime Emmy Awards and co-executive produced and directed ABC’s 24-hour global news coverage of the turning of the millennium.

Let’s hope the production maintains its own insouciance if Gil Cates is still onboard to produce.
