Globe And Mail Memo: ReOrgs And A Layoff
The Globe And Mail—Canada’s largest nationally-distributed newspaper is making some changes, announced yesterday: most notably, publisher Philip Crawley announced that editor-in-chief Ed Greenspon is being replaced by business editor John Stackhouse. We obtained a copy of the memo from a tipster, who notes that it may be “the most insensitive memo” of layoffs ever. It does ring a little odd, especially when Crawley says “There will be other occasions to pay tribute to Ed Greenspon¹s outstanding service to The Globe and Mail.”
The Globe and Mail’s also installing a new VP of Digital, Angus Frame, and a VP of Business Development and Marketing (a new position), Roger Dunbar.
