The first U.K. show created exclusively for Twitter, PopBuzz Presents, will debut Thursday (Nov. 16) at 5 p.m. GMT.

Media and entertainment group Global teamed up with Twitter on the show, which will be hosted by Lilah Parsons and Will Hardy and welcome One Direction’s Liam Payne as its first guest.

Each Thursday at 5 p.m. GMT, Parsons and Hardy will interview guests from the music, film and entertainment sectors, and PopBuzz Presents will be split in to three seven-minute segments:

  • The hosts and guests will chat about the top three trending stories.
  • The hosts and guests will play a game.
  • The hosts and guests will engage in a “DMC” (deep, meaningful conversation) in a sleepover setting with pajamas, sleeping bags, cushions and cuddly toys.

PopBuzz Presents is available free-of-charge to Twitter users worldwide via or @popbuzz.

Twitter U.K. managing director Dara Nasr said in a release introducing PopBuzz Presents: “We’re incredibly excited to launch #PopBuzzPresents. Global has always been hugely innovative in its use of Twitter, so we’re delighted to partner with it to bring this all-star lineup exclusively to the platform for the first time. Music and pop culture is constantly happening on Twitter with fans getting a unique, real-time glimpse into the world of their favorite artists. In fact, six of the 10-most-followed people in the world on Twitter are music artists, with @katyperry and @justinbieber both clear of the 100 million mark, so PopBuzz Presents seemed like a natural fit.”

Global director of digital James Hickman added: “We’re pleased to have the opportunity to create the first U.K. show made exclusively for Twitter. PopBuzz attracts a social reach of nearly 200 million every month, so we’re confident that PopBuzz Presents will resonate with Twitter users and offer us another great way to reach Gen Z. With an all-star lineup of guests and two talented presenters, we’re looking forward to seeing how Twitter reacts to the show when it launches next week.” David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
